Creating a business-facing toolkit

National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise

Having previously created a policy briefing for a national innovation centre, Bulletin were asked to create a business-facing toolkit to be shared with employers and business support organisations across rural Derbyshire.

The challenge

The research team, including individuals from universities in the Midlands and the North of England, wanted to produce toolkit that summarised its recommendations and could be used by rural businesses to help them find and retain workers.

Bulletin was asked to design a document that presented the information in a way businesses would find practical, accessible and visually clear. It also needed to fit in the brand guidelines of the funder and satisfy the marketing teams across different universities.

Approach

Using the knowledge Bulletin had gained putting the policy briefing together, we designed the toolkit to highlight the most important points for businesses. Using visually consistent imagery we were able to create something that was recognisably part of the same family of documents as the policy briefing we had previously designed, but with a different audience and purpose.

Outcome

By producing print ready and digital ready PDFs the toolkit has been able to be shared with employers and business support organisations across rural Derbyshire.

“Bulletin worked closely with us to produce a professional toolkit that we could send to regional organisations. They helped us to convey our messages more persuasively through an iterative process of editing & formatting which we found to be extremely useful.”
